Hostel Policies

 
  • Check in begins at 2:00 PM and check out ends at 11:00 AM. Early check in is based on availability and never guaranteed. Late checkout incurs a twenty-five ($25.00 USD) fee. 

  • PRICES & TAXES: Nightly rates quoted are based on the guest's chosen length of stay. Rates are subject to change without notice due to supply and demand. Guests must pay all taxes and fees associated with their accommodation. Rates are quoted in U.S. dollars (USD). Payment will be charged, in full, 24-hours prior to guest arrival to the card on file. If a card fails to provide sufficient funds, the Hostel reserves the right to cancel the reservation without prior warning. 

    Rates for Private Euro or Ensuite rooms are quoted for up to two (2) persons only. Rates for dormitories are quoted for one (1) adult per bed only. Double Ensuites and Double Euros are quoted for two (2) persons, and additional persons in these rooms will be charged $20-25.00 per night.  Discounts are not given for fewer guests. 

    In the event you complete a booking based on a rate that has been incorrectly posted, the Hostel reserves the right to correct the rate or cancel the reservation at its discretion, and will contact you directly in order to do so. ​

  • Cancellations and/or amendments to guest reservations must be made 48-hours prior to the date of arrival. Guest arrival date begins at 2:00 p.m. the date of arrival. By accepting and approving this cancellation policy, guests authorize that their card on file may be charged a cancellation fee, equal to the first night stay, if the reservation is not cancelled more than 48-hours prior to check in date. 

    Cancellations due to changed travel plans, weather conditions, or cancelled flights do NOT waive cancellation fees. 

    NO SHOWS: In the event of a no-show, guests will be charged the first night's stay and any required government tax. No-shows will be charged at 2:00 a.m. on the morning following the guest's intended arrival. 

  • HUMAN DECENCY REQUIRED: All guests are expected to act in a manner which upholds the law, and is respectful and kind to all guests and staff of the hostel at all times.

    RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE: 11th Avenue Hostel is privately owned and operated.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws.  The Hostel has a zero tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hostel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the State of Colorado, City of Denver, and the owners for the operation and management of the Hostel.

    11th Avenue Hostel will refuse service or evict a guest for: refusal or failure to pay for accommodations; being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with state liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests; is unable to properly supervise their children at all times, seeks to use the hostel for an unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the hostel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hostel property or guests; causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by 11th Avenue Hostel for the operation and management of our Hostel.

    Discrimination of any kind is not permitted on our property, and we will evict any guest, without refund, for discrimination against staff or another guest due to race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.

    Guests must show a credit/debit card in their name with funds at check in. Persons not staying at the Hostel cannot pay for a guest's room, and payment can never be taken over the phone. Guests must be 18 years or older to check in and register for a room. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. 

    Proof of continued travel, including but not limited to a bus ticket, train ticket, plane ticket, future hostel or hotel reservation, is required upon arrival for checking into a dormitory. Colorado residents may be asked to show proof of activity including but not limited to concert tickets, sporting game tickets, or other event tickets to stay in dormitories. Denver residents are not permitted to stay in dormitories.

    The Hostel will hold guest baggage until 10:30 p.m. prior to and following arrival and departure. Baggage recognized by major U.S. Airlines ONLY will be accepted. Garbage bags or forms of packaging not accepted by a major U.S. Airline will not be accepted.  ​

    Baggage stored longer than 24 hours incurs charges of up to $10.00 per item per day prior to or after the date and time that luggage is stored. Bags stored for more than 3-days require manager approval. Stored items unclaimed after 5 days may be disposed of without notice and without liability or claim towards the ownership and/or management of 11th Avenue Hostel.

    DORMITORIES: The hostel is a space for travelers and not long term residency. Guests staying in dormitories must show proof of travel when checking in, and may only stay a total of 14-days in a calendar year. Denver locals may not stay in dormitories and must reserve a private room. 

    PETS & SERVICE ANIMALS: The Hostel does not allow pets, ever. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, or therapy dogs are considered pets and not permitted in our building. 

    The Hostel allows only service animals identified by ADA Title II on site. Service animals must be in the company of their handler at all times, and may never be left in a guest room alone or off leash on property. Service animals will require a cleaning deposit on file. Service animals behaving inappropriately will be required to leave. 

    SMOKING: 11th Avenue Hostel is a smoke-free property. Smoking or vaping of any kind is not permitted in the building. Guests smoking or vaping in the building will be removed without a refund and charged up to $500 in damage fees and an immediate eviction without a refund. There is a designated smoking area on the hostel patio. The consumption of marijuana on property is never allowed. 

    VISITORS: Visitors are not permitted past the hostel lobby. All guests must be registered with the front desk and provide government-issued identification for access to the upper floors and guest rooms. 

    HOUSEKEEPING: Rooms must be available for access by housekeeping and maintenance at all times. Housekeeping and maintenance staff will always knock prior to entering. Dormitories are cleaned daily, and housekeeping of private rooms is provided every third day. Guests who wish for daily housekeeping must request it at the front desk. 

    COOKING & USE OF HOSTEL KITCHEN: Guests agree to cook in the hostel kitchen at their own risk, and agree to treat all appliances and cooking utensils with care when cooking, and ensure the utmost caution will be exercised when using appliances, cooking utensils, or the stove. The Hostel is not responsible for guests cooking injuries. Guests will clean their cooking utensils, dishes and countertops after preparing a meal. Guests will label their food when stored in the common kitchen. Guests will not steal other guest's food items. The Hostel is not responsible for lost or stolen kitchen or food items. 

    Preparation of food in guest rooms is strictly prohibited. Guests may only cook or prepare food in the Hostel kitchen.

    FIREARMS OR OPEN FLAME: Open fires, flames or cooking grills, either charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on hostel property. Guests may not bring firearms onto the property. Candles, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited.  These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine assessed, and the guest may be evicted without a refund.

    NO PARTIES: 11th Avenue Hostel does not allow in-room parties. No parties, loud disturbances or noise nuisances are permitted on property. If a party is taking place, the hostel will issue a warning to guests. If the warning is not heeded, guests will be required to leave without a refund. 

    Any events or large gatherings must be contracted ahead of time with Hostel event staff.

    NO ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION: Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed in common areas. Please drink responsibly at our on-site restaurant or at one of Denver’s many awesome bars.

    SUBJECT TO CHANGE: These rules are subject to change or be added to at any time at the Hostel's discretion.

  • The hostel does not provide guest parking and is not responsible for fees incurred for towed or improperly parked vehicles. Parking is available one block away for $10+ per day through Parkwell. 11th Avenue Hostel is not responsible for ticketed vehicles, improperly parked vehicles, lost, or stolen items.
